Unleash Your Inner Viking With Our Special ‘ValhallAxe’ Month this February!

Most people when they think of axe throwing they think of Vikings, so what better way to celebrate the Viking spirit than a special Valhallor themed month at Eat Sleep Axe!

During ValhallAxe, we will be bringing you a variety of Viking themed games and challenges, that can be played with our battle axes modelled on traditional Viking designs (as well as our regular axes if you’d prefer).

We’ve also got some great competitions to bring out your inner warrior, as well as hats and photo props to really get you into the spirit of things.

Axes

In addition to all our usual, more contemporary axes, we have a selection of throwers any Viking would have been happy to throw!

Floki

Inspired by the tv Viking hero, Floki, this thrower is a less ornate version of the Floki hatchet.

Bearded

The bearded axe or Skeggøx was a popular Viking axe, and this thrower uses the beard design to make an even lighter thrower.

Dane

This thrower is styled after one of the earliest battle axe styles, utilising the two spiky “horns” of the Dane axe.

Frank

This thrower is modelled on the earliest medieval throwing axe, the Francisca – (Predating the Vikings by a few hundred years but looks the part!)

Additional throwers

If you want to add more to your session, we’ve got a few alternative throwers to try out for a bit of extra fun!

Mini Steel Thrower

Similar to our standard mini throwers with a bit more bite! The beautiful design of these axes make for a very satisfying throw.

Mjolnirs

3x throwing ‘stars’ that can be all be thrown in one turn. Named after Thor’s hammer, these are light and easy to throw, and you get 3 times the fun!

Tactical Shovel

While not a traditional Viking weapon, throwing our tactical shovel makes you feel as strong as a Norse God!

Competitions

We’ll also be running two competitions for you to take part in, with gift vouchers up for grabs!

Best Photo

Don our Viking hats and prop axes and get your photo taken against our photo back drop wall. Post the photo to your socials and tag @EatSleepAxe to be entered into our photo competition. At the end of the month we’ll pick our favourite and they’ll win a £25 gift voucher!

Double-bit Woodblock Splitting

Split a wooden block suspended from a string in front of the target with our double-bit axe.

If you can manage it, you’ll win a £10 gift voucher!

£5 for 3 tries

Games

As well as our standard competition targets and Norse and Crosses, we’ll also have 6 exciting Viking themed targets to try

Shields up!

A simple challenge (if you have good aim!), to get the highest score from 10 throws. Hit the centre of the target to score, but watch you don’t hit the negative figures and bring your score down.

Skal!

Cheers! Can you get a high score from hitting the drinking horn? Will you play it safe and go for the low score bigger areas or try to hit the smaller high scores?

Molkky

Molkky is a Scandinavian skittle type game, which we’ve adapted with axes. The idea is to score exactly 50 points, but beware you don’t go over 50, as your score goes down to 25!

Throw a Floki at Loki

A simple high score game. Hit Loki with our Floki (or a different axe if you’d prefer) and see how many points you can get.

For more of a challenge, one person plays as Loki, take it in turns throwing and try to be the first to reach 30 or -30. Players add score, Loki takes it away.

Villagers vs Pillagers

A versus game where one person/team plays as the Vikings, and the other as the castle guards.

Vikings must try to hit the towers to break down the castle defences, while guards must try to hit the boat to sink it. The first team to hit all targets wins!

Runed the Clock

A classic game traditionally played on a dartboard. Starting at the top rune, how many throws will it take you to get all the way round the board?
